  The right-back sealed a £15m ($19m) move to the Hammers on Tuesday, ending his five-year stay at Old Trafford, and hinted that their squad was more united than the Red Devils' dressing room.

  "It was a no brainer for me to join West Ham – I’m excited and happy to be here," the 26-year-old told West Ham's official website. "I can’t wait to get on the pitch, get to know the players, and push on from there. I see a team that is in it together, that will push each other to win, and a group that has got each others' backs through thick and thin, so being part of that and having that insurance helps a lot when you are surrounded by a good squad."

He was billed as England's next great right-back when he signed for £50m ($64m) from Crystal Palace in 2019 but his lack of ability going forward soon became evident and he eventually lost his place in the team to Diogo Dalot.
